Services Offered

LightSpring offers 16 different virtual visit types to choose from. All are video consultations, and your animal will need to be present during our call. The cost is $75 for a 30-minute video consultation.

Prescribed medications are filled and shipped directly through our Blue Rabbit pharmacy.

You’ll receive a specialized form based on your selected visit type before our consultation. These forms are designed to collect a thorough history in advance of our consult, so we can make the most of our time together.

Important: If your pet has multiple needs, choose the visit type for the medical concern, not just routine medications. For example:

  • Need flea/tick prevention + pet has itchy ears? Select Dermatology Consult
  • Need medication refill + pet has anxiety? Select Behavior Consult

This ensures we gather the right medical history for your pet’s health issues.

Wellness Consult

Consult to evaluate everyday wellness and discuss weight management, environmental enrichment, and any other concerns you have. “What does a healthy diet look like?” “How much exercise does my pet need?” “Does my dog need a trainer?” “Do I have enough litterboxes for my cats?” All are valid questions that we can work together to answer.

Large Animal Consult

Consult for concerns involving large animals (horses, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, llamas, and alpacas.) Wound management, skin issues, lameness issues, and more can be evaluated and addressed. I currently do not provide consults for poultry (but hope to in the future.)

Flea/Tick/Heartworm Medication Consult

Does your pet need a prescription flea/tick/heartworm/deworming medication? I can examine your pet virtually and offer prescriptions sent directly to your door via our Blue Rabbit pharmacy. I can also consult on vaccine recommendations and overall preventative health to keep your pet healthy.

Dermatology Consult

Is your pet itchy? Have lumps or bumps that concern you? Hair loss, ear infections, and allergies are frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive conditions that leave you and your pet miserable. Let’s work together to figure out the root cause of these issues and create a treatment plan that will help your pet feel better. I love helping pets with skin issues – it’s one of my favorite areas of vet med.

Behavior Consult

Separation anxiety, fear of fireworks/thunderstorms, and fear of grooming/veterinary visits are common issues. We can work together to make life easier for your pet. During our video call, we will discuss your pet’s anxiety and other problematic behaviors and find a solution via a thorough, holistic approach.

Mobility Consult

Our pets will all experience pain and mobility issues as they age, but they don’t have to suffer in silence. During our video call, we will discuss chronic pain management strategies, including medication and environmental modification, that are custom-tailored to your pet, your environment, and your budget. I can also help you access resources in your area for complementary therapies such as laser treatment, acupuncture, and physical rehabilitation.

Eye Consult

Some eye conditions are emergencies, but some can be managed via a video call. Ongoing drainage, redness, bumps, and cloudiness can be evaluated.

GI Consult

This video consult is for abnormal stools, vomiting, weight loss, flatulence, or change in appetite in a pet that otherwise feels fine. If your pet has vomited more than 2x in a 24-hour period, or is lethargic, please seek in-person care.

Respiratory Consult

Mild sneezing, coughing, runny eyes, and runny noses are common symptoms of respiratory infections. We can evaluate and create a plan for most of these virtually. Please see an in-person vet immediately if there is respiratory distress.

Dentistry Consult

Dental disease is the most common medical disease of both dogs and cats, causing pain and other health issues. “Does my pet have dental disease?” “What can I do to improve my pet’s breath?” “Is it safe to put my pet under anesthesia for a dental procedure?” During our video call to evaluate oral health, we can discuss at-home dental health products and strategies and empower you to make decisions for your furry friend.

Quality of Life Assessment

Our older pets often have changing needs, and it can be challenging to make informed decisions. The love and compassion you have for your pet is evident because you are here seeking help during a difficult season. The bond you share with your beloved companion matters, and facing questions about their quality of life takes tremendous courage. You are not alone in this journey. I understand that every pet is unique and every situation deserves thoughtful, individualized care. I will help you navigate end-of-life decisions, including pain management, nutrition support, cognitive decline, and environmental enrichment. I am here to educate, support, and explore options on your terms, without judgement.

Sick/Unwell Consult

If your pet has a condition/issue that does not fit into one of the other categories (Derm, Mobility, Eyes, GI, Behavior, Respiratory, or Dentistry) – choose this one. The form will allow you to enter all the details so I can help your pet.

Medication Prescription

Sometimes getting into the vet clinic for a prescription medication refill can be challenging. Life happens. Along with records from your normal veterinarian, I can utilize a video call to prescribe medication refills sent to your home via my Blue Rabbit online pharmacy.

Second Opinion

Veterinary medicine is not an exact science, and sometimes a fresh perspective can be helpful in making decisions. By reviewing your pet’s medical records and listening to you (you know your pet best!) – we can create a plan that addresses the unique needs of your animal and your situation.

Grief Support

The grief of losing an animal friend is significant and real. The sadness can be overwhelming. Their constant presence and unconditional love are not present in our human experience in any other way. When they are gone, they are conspicuously absent from the normal rhythms that make up our days. If you are struggling to process this grief, I am here to listen and help equip you to find resources to help.

Follow-Up

Video call follow-up for an issue previously evaluated by LightSpring Virtual Veterinary Care.
